Olivia loves to accessorize! Bows, necklaces, bracelets, and rings are things that she doesn’t like to leave home without!
Today we had a fun play date with Olivia’s friends, and while at their house Olivia made her own necklace, bracelet, and ring using heart shaped beads and elastic string. She hasn’t taken them off, and was very excited to wear them to choir practice tonight.
This activity is a great way to develop fine motor skills, and can be done with any type of beads. Before giving the kids their elastic strings, the moms triple knotted the ends so that the beads wouldn’t fall off. You could also tie the string to the last bead to keep them from falling off. Once they had enough beads on the string, we triple knotted the other end of the string, and then double knotted the two ends together.
