The Christmas Spirit has begun to fill our house! The tree is up, Apple the Elf has arrived, and now it’s time to begin the Christmas crafts. My nephew Joey spent the day with us today, so I had the chance to do a Christmas craft with both him and Olivia!
The star of the craft was one of the kids favorite people – Santa! Both kids had fun making their own Santas. Here are the materials that we used:
- Red construction paper for the hat and mouth
- White cardstock for the background of the beard
- Cotton balls
- Paper plate
- Glue stick
- Elmer’s glue
- Big googly eyes
- Red pom pom for the nose
The kids began by gluing Santa’s mouth to the cardstock. I then helped them to place Elmer’s glue all around the mouth, and they covered the glue with cotton balls.
Next, they worked on Santa’s hat. Together, we put Elmer’s glue on the bottom of Santa’s hat, and a dot at the tip. Joey and Olivia then put cotton balls on top of the glue.
After finishing the hat, Olivia and Joey made Santa’s face. To do this step, they glued the googly eyes and pom pom nose to the paper plate.
Once all three parts were dry, we glued the beard and hat to Santa’s face, and completed our cute Christmas craft!
