When I was little, I loved to catch fireflies outside. It brings back such wonderful memories, to now watch Olivia do the same. I’m sure that we look a bit ridiculous running back and forth across the yard, chasing them, but it is just so much fun! Today we made our own fireflies!
Here are the materials that we used:
- Black construction paper -
- Tissue paper – we used light green, light pink, and yellow
- 2 Sheets of contact paper
I first cut a head with antennae, and two wings out of the black paper. Next, I taped a small piece of contact paper to the table. Olivia then ripped the tissue paper into little pieces. We used mostly yellow tissue paper, and a tiny bit of light pink and light green. After that, she placed the tissue paper onto the contact paper. Once the contact paper was covered, we placed the second sheet of contact paper on top. Finally, I cut the contact paper into an oval, and we taped the head and wings to the oval.
