Pepper Shamrocks

img_1939 img_1940  Olivia loves to paint!  Instead of using only paint brushes, we try to find all different items to paint with.  Today we used peppers to make shamrocks (green peppers, of course).  Olivia looked at me like I was crazy when I told her that we were using a pepper to paint, but she had fun once she got started.
The hardest part of this project was choosing the perfect pepper.  At our weekly shopping trip we did our best to pick out a green 14thpepper that was symmetrical.   Before using it for painting, I cut off the top of the pepper and removed the seeds.  I then showed Olivia how to use the pepper as a shamrock stamp.  Once the outline of the stamp was placed onto the paper, we added a stem and leaf lines on the shamrocks using a paint brush.
