Catching the Rays

Fall sunshine is the best!  The warm autumn days, and cool nights just seem so cozy to me.  Today we made pumpkin suncatchers that made me feel like I was capturing the sunshine.

– 2 pieces of clear contact paper (about 12 inches long)
– 1 piece of orange foam that I had cut into the shape of a pumpkin
– A piece of green foam for the stem
– Tissue paper in different shades of orange.
I used the pumpkin shaped craft foam as the frame for the suncatcher.  Before beginning to work with Olivia, I pre-cut tissue paper into small squares.  I taped one of the pieces of contact paper (sticky side up) to her table and had her place the small squares of tissue paper onto it.  Once the contact paper was cover with tissue paper, I removed the back of the second piece of contact paper, and placed it on top (sticky side touching the tissue paper).  Last we taped the pumpkin frame to the contact paper, trimmed the edges, and added the stem.
